Tom is a sales & marketing executive with over 30 years of experience within the natural products industry. Over the last 30 years, Tom has worked with many of the pioneers within natural products industry on both the product and retail side. He has extensive experience with independent natural, supernatural and conventional chain formats and their merchandising strategies. Many of today’s leading natural retailers have relied on Tom’s knowledge and experience in developing their concept and strategy, including Sprouts Farmer’s Market.
Most recently, Tom was the President of Nature’s Best, Inc., the largest privately owned distributor of natural and organic products in the United States. Tom was a key member of the senior management team at Nature’s Best who led the development of the company’s strategic direction and execution of profitable growth. In addition to his executive management duties, Tom headed sales initiatives for Nature’s Best, which drove the company from a local Southern California natural foods distributor with sales of $13 million in 1981 to covering over 20 states and sales approaching $1 billion. His leadership and focus on service excellence enabled Nature’s Best to become one of the most highly respected and trusted companies in the Natural Products Industry.
Prior to joining Nature’s Best, Tom served in multiple sales and marketing capacities at Corning Incorporated (NYSE) within the company’s consumer products division, and subsequently was responsible for West Coast business development at Corning’s foodservice division.
Tom is a graduate of California State University Fullerton, where he earned his MBA degree, with emphasis in finance and marketing. He is also a founding member of Corazon Construction, a local relief charity, and a mentor for Spirit League children’s programs. Tom currently lives in San Clemente with his wife Maureen.
